UK government 'encourages' large clubs and festivals in the UK to use NHS COVID Pass for entry

The UK government discussed the opening of nightlife in England this week, developing the idea of a COVID PASS to enter nightclubs and festivals.

England nightlife will reopen on Monday 19 July with clubs reopening and festivals returning without any capacity restrictions, however, they should encourage larger, higher-risk events to use the NHS COVID PASS to enter to the venue. However, this will not be introduced as a legal requirement.

You will probably need to provide a recent negative test result or proof of a second vaccination to get a pass.

More details will be announced shortly as the pass will be available on the NHS app soon.

Along with the pass, the UK government will unveil additional health and safety guidelines for venues and festivals, to be adopted following the lifting of COVID restrictions next week.
